Maze Team Lead

About the Maze Team Lead role

An exciting hands-on role during the event weekend. We are looking for someone to support our maze leads throughout the event with any issues that may arise, including welfare, incidents, attraction issues, and more.

Our maze attractions are the most popular activities on Saturday night, and they need to run smoothly. While our maze leads will be managing each maze, they will undoubtedly need an extra pair of hands to support them. This role involves ensuring the maze leads are well-supported, addressing any issues, and coordinating with the technical team if any technical problems occur with the attractions.

This role will primarily involve working directly with the event lead and the individual maze leads to ensure everyone has fun and a great experience.

Main role responsibilities:
  • Welfare Support: Monitor the well-being of maze leads and team members, addressing any concerns that arise during the event.

  • Incident Management: Respond promptly to any incidents, ensuring a quick and effective resolution.

  • Attraction Maintenance: Assist with any technical or operational issues within the mazes, coordinating with the technical team as needed.

  • Logistics Coordination: Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly.

  • Communication Hub: Serve as the main communication point between maze leads, the technical team, and event management.

  • Training and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to maze leads, helping them prepare for their roles and addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Safety: Monitor and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe experience for all participants and team members.

  • Problem-Solving: Act quickly to address any challenges or unexpected situations that may arise, ensuring the smooth operation of the mazes.

  • Feedback and Reporting: Gather feedback from maze leads and participants, and report any significant issues or improvements to event management.

2025 Maze line-up:

This year we are planning to see the return and expansion of many of the 2024 line up along with a 2019 favorite and something new and exciting yet to be announced. All of these will be getting upgrades and changes, in some cases layouts and stories in others more themeing, better props and lighting etc.

Some of the themes we have used before and may use again include:

Prison – Jail – Circus – Farmyard – Scientist – Outbreak – Campsite – Western – Hillbilly – Zombie – Darkness – Cell Block – Hospital – Blindfold

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to actively participate in all of the maze attractions and their teams during the event weekend. You’ll be pivotal in helping them deliver incredible experiences to all participants.

Time commitment:

The role is fairly flexible and involves more than just the event weekend. Here’s a brief overview:

  • Online Meetings: Attend online meetings to get an idea of what’s going on and stay updated on plans.

  • Site Visit: Conduct a site visit to understand the layouts and locations of the maze attractions.

  • In-Person Meeting: Have an in-person meeting with the maze leads and event lead to get to know them and build rapport.

  • Event Weekend: 31st Oct – 2nd Nov 2025. Be actively involved throughout the event weekend, providing support to the maze leads.

  • Post-Event (Sun): On the Sunday of the event, everything will be packed away and taken down, so there shouldn’t be any need to stay onsite post-event weekend, although there will be a team dinner on the Sunday night.

  • Post-Event Debrief: Participate in an online or face-to-face debrief and feedback session to review the event and discuss improvements.
